Contract Details

Purpose and Scope
The Staff Right of Way Specialist supports land acquisition and right-of-way activities for infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for coordinating property research, negotiations, permitting, construction coordination, and restoration activities while ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and project standards. The specialist collaborates closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze, prepare, review, and interpret Right of Way agreements, including deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses.
- Research and collect real property documents related to project needs.
- Translate Right of Way data into the stakeholder management database.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of database entries completed by field agents.
- Present technical Right of Way data to project teams.
- Prepare and submit permit applications.
- Prepare project status, technical, and acquisition reports for internal teams and clients.
- Manage document preparation, control, and meeting materials.
- Assist with subcontractor management, including contracts, invoices, and change orders.
- Support public involvement meetings and stakeholder presentations.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and defining critical objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company, site safety, and operational policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Required Skills
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and 4 years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, eminent domain, project management, or real estate experience
OR applicable experience in lieu of degree - Ability to read and interpret title reports, appraisal reports, and land surveys
- Demonstrated knowledge of real estate law and title work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with database system management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain company vehicle driving privileges
Preferred
- SR/WA designation or other IRWA certification
- Real Estate Broker or Sales License
- Demonstrated presentation skills
