    Description

    This position will assist the principal investigator with the design, execution, and documentation of research studies.

    Examples of Duties

    Core Research Support

    • Assist the principal investigator with the design, execution, and documentation of research studies
    • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings to support grant proposals, papers, and project planning
    • Collect, clean, code, and manage research data in accordance with IRB, lab, and data-security protocols
    • Perform quantitative and/or qualitative analysis using Python
    • Maintain accurate datasets, codebooks, and version-controlled project files

    Writing, dissemination, and collaboration

    • Draft, edit, and format sections of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and technical reports
    • Prepare figures, tables, and supplementary materials for publications and presentations
    • Present progress and results in lab meetings, journal clubs, and (as appropriate) conferences
    • Coordinate with co-authors, collaborators, and external partners on shared research tasks
    • Assist with citation management, reference formatting, and journal submission requirements

    Project and lab operations

    • Help prepare IRB/ethics applications, amendments, and continuing-review materials
    • Support grant-related tasks such as progress reports, budget tracking, and literature/justification sections
    • Train and mentor undergraduate research assistants on protocols, software, and lab safety
    • Follow all institutional, safety, and responsible-conduct-of-research requirement

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Programming experience in Python
