    Role Statement

    Cable Assembly Product Development Engineer is responsible for Cable Assembly related product development tasks, who needs to work closely with customer / PM / Sales to clarify customer requirements and then to finalize the product design, qualification, and certification related tasks until mass production.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work closely with Product Management, Sales and NPI/operation teams on Industrial cable & cable assembly business.
    • Engage in Industrial cable and cable assembly new product development and sustaining activities; translate the customer requirements into TE's internal technical diagrams, drawings and specifications.
    • Be the engineering consultant on a range of development, design and sustaining engineering projects internally and externally.
    • Engage in managing cross functional engineering projects, working with Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial targets, schedule and customer expectations.
    • Work closely with Suppliers and Product Development Engineers for connector and bulk cable.
    • Work closely with NPI/Operations and Supply Chain to bring new cable assembly products to market within the set timeline.
    • Support product training, sample building and customer service as required.
    • Technical report writing.
    • Knowledge of cable and cable assembly product design and customization in Industrial applications.
    • Knowledge of Industrial Low-Med-High voltage cables, Data Cables, and Power Cables etc.
    • Knowledge of Industrial Connectors (TE and its competitors).

    Objectives

    • New product launch on time.
    • New product launch on cost.
    • Opportunity management and convert to new product/project
    • Lead cross function team to build CCAO competency

    Key Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical related.
    • At least 10 years' experience in product development / sustaining.
    • Strong multi-tasks management capability for planning and execution.
    • Strong cross function communication and coordination
    • Independent product design capability.
    • Good ability for trouble shooting, data analysis, product improvement.
    • Experience to work with factory.
    • Fluent English.

    What your background should look like

    Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
