What You'll Do
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, therapeutic, and effective preparation and dispensing of medications while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, professional standards, and pharmaceutical best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and process medication orders accurately and efficiently.
- Verify and dispense medications in inpatient, outpatient, and retail settings.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications.
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness and provide clinical interventions when necessary.
- Monitor medication therapy outcomes and adverse drug events.
- Provide medication counseling and patient education.
- Support immunization services when required.
- Interpret laboratory results related to medication management.
- Utilize pharmacy information systems effectively.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and support personnel.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and healthcare policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited BS Pharmacy or PharmD program
- Current Pharmacist License
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacy degree
- Immunization certification as required by assigned practice area
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of pharmacy experience in a relevant practice setting
- Experience in hospital, outpatient, ambulatory, or retail pharmacy environments
- Strong patient counseling and medication management skills
Candidate Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience preferred
- Strong clinical and operational pharmacy knowledge
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Occasional travel may be required
- No management experience required
