Staff Sustaining Engineer
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serving as the primary engineering lead for production line issues affecting safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Leading urgent troubleshooting activities for manufacturing nonconformances, production stoppages, material shortages, and assembly defects.
  • Conducting root cause investigations and implementing robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supporting daily manufacturing operations through rapid issue assessment and prioritization.
  • Driving containment activities and recovery plans during critical production disruptions.
  • Partnering with production supervisors and operators to identify and eliminate recurring manufacturing issues.
  • Leading the implementation of engineering changes, including updates to manufacturing processes, tooling, and work instructions.
  • Supporting component obsolescence, supplier transitions, and product lifecycle activities.
  • Ensuring manufacturing changes are validated, deployed effectively, and supported through operator training.
  • Partnering with Quality Engineering to support nonconformance investigations, complaint investigations, and field failures.
  • Analyzing production and field performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Robotics Engineering, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience with pFMEA in robotics, electromechanical medical devices, or automated equipment.
  • Over 6 years supporting manufacturing operations of complex electromechanical, robotic, or automation products.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and supplier-related technical issues swiftly and effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and production systems.
  • Expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies, with excellent project leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
