    Description

    We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Staff Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist to work in a technical support role in the field with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of environmental projects for a diverse range of clients. This field role is 80% in the field, 20% in the office. This is a full-time position located in our San Jose, CA office.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    In this position, you will:

    • Conduct environmental field investigations and assessments of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, etc., using approved industry standard procedures.
    • Conduct or oversee geologic site characterization including sub-surface explorations, monitoring well siting and construction, soil vapor probe installation, field sampling, and waste management.
    • Conduct all field efforts in accordance with proposed work scopes and data quality objectives.
    • Conduct field investigations independently while keeping project teams informed on progress, issues observed, and potential deviations from plans.
    • Support with organization, reduction, and synthesis of project field data.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation.
    • Apply academic training and use computer software to perform calculations and evaluation of information available site data.
    • Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
    • Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized tasks or project opportunities.
    • Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
    • Demonstrate our foundational safety behaviors.

    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    Minimum Skills and Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field.
    • 0-2 years of related environmental consulting field experience.
    • Proficient technical writing, verbal communication, reasoning, and time-management skills.
    • Able to work independently or with minimal direction in performing tasks and assignments under the direction of senior staff.
    • Desire to learn and grow in their profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership.
    • Experience with Microsoft Suite software.

    Preferred Skills:

    • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
