Position Overview

A community-based hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Department to lead its 24-bed ED. This position provides clinical, operational and strategic leadership while overseeing staffing, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance and departmental improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily Emergency Department operations
• Lead, mentor and evaluate nursing staff
• Oversee hiring, staffing and scheduling
• Maintain Joint Commission and regulatory compliance
• Develop and implement policies and procedures
• Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives
• Manage departmental budgets, productivity and financial performance
• Partner with physicians, administration and hospital leadership
• Ensure exceptional patient care and clinical standards

Requirements

• Active North Carolina RN license or eligibility
• BSN required
• 5+ years of hospital Emergency Department experience
• 2+ years of nursing leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of ED operations and regulatory standards
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
