Position Overview

A growing acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to provide clinical, operational, and fiscal leadership for its Emergency Department. This position is responsible for staffing, quality, patient safety, financial performance, regulatory readiness, and clinical excellence.

The Director will lead department strategy while developing nursing leadership and fostering strong relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and hospital executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical and operational performance of Emergency Services
• Develop and execute short- and long-term department strategies
• Oversee staffing, budgets, productivity, and resource management
• Drive quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
• Ensure regulatory readiness and compliance
• Manage patient, physician, and staff concerns
• Mentor and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff
• Conduct performance evaluations and support employee engagement

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BSN required
• 3+ years of critical care nursing experience
• Critical care course completion
• Current BLS & ACLS
• PALS within 6 months of hire
• TNCC within 1 year
• Strong nursing leadership, financial, and operational management skills
