Position OverviewServe as a key leadership team member (the "Mayor") to serve our staff community (250 people). This role focuses on creating and maintaining a clean, safe, fun, and supportive living environment for all seasonal staff housing.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote a positive staff culture and build connections with excellent service and support in housing and living needsMaintain staff housing assignments through Microsoft Teams and/or ExcelPlan and assist with staff camp setup, takedown, social events, and serve on the employee wellness teamEnsure daily mail collection, sorting, and delivery are completed quickly and accurately (including drop offs)Conduct daily checks and cleanings for bathhouses, laundry rooms, tenting area, and common areas.Address staff concerns, complaints, or conflicts promptly while maintaining confidentialityUphold staff housing expectations from the handbook and conduct housings checksModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 21+Valid U.S. driver's license and able to obtain a Summit Driving PermitPrior experience in residence life, camp housing, or staff leadershipExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike up to 6 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgroundsPerformance ExpectationsRemain visible, accessible, and approachable in Staff Camp; responding to staff needs within 8 hoursMaintains a consistent and positive staff presenceLearned all staff names and regularly built connections
