Summary/Objective
The Staff Assistant is responsible for operating the telephone switchboard to relay incoming and outgoing calls and for performing miscellaneous cancer center patient access and clerical duties..

- Receives and records telephone messages in a courteous, accurate and professional manner. Follows Department policy regarding telephone etiquette.
- Consistently provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests as appropriate to position.
- Proficient in utilization of computer systems to accomplish position responsibilities and utilizes clerical skills effectively in fulfilling position responsibilities.
- In collaboration with licensed staff, organizes patient care and general clinic duties to accomplish required functions.
- Completes all QCL''s in a timely manner and scans documents into the EMR in a timely manner and into the correct location.
- Utilizes EMR efficiently and effectively to assist patients with appointments and other general information.
