    Job Summary:

    The Staff Assistant will provide administrative support to the Chief of Police and University Police Administration Division.

    Main responsibilities will include:

    • Managing record keeping related to fleet vehicles, maintenance and purchases.
    • Serves as a departmental liaison to Physical Plant for maintenance and repair needs at UPD Headquarters and applicable work locations.
    • Produces and distributes correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
    • Compiles and presents data to support regulatory compliance and benchmarking requirements.
    • Manages department social media accounts.
    • Assists in providing general support to all patients, visitors, students, vendors, and staff on campus.
    • Performs other administrative tasks as assigned by the Administrative Division to include, but is not limited to: reservation of conference spaces and organize Departmental trainings.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Associate''s degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Current NYS Security Guard license required. A valid NYS Driver''s License is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Knowledge of Security operations in the public or private sector is preferred. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills preferred. Adequate knowledge of the SUNY system, Upstate Medical University, and the University Police Department preferred.
