This is more than a traditional staff accounting contract. Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant who can help maintain day-to-day accounts payable operations while also bringing expertise and recommendations to improve processes within Workday.

The organization recently implemented Workday and is looking for someone who can contribute both technically and strategically. You'll work closely with accounting leadership, support a collaborative finance team, and play a key role in optimizing workflows during an important transitional period.

This contract is expected to begin in late October and includes training and knowledge transfer before a planned employee leave.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage supplier invoices, AP workflows, and expense reporting within Workday.
• 
  
• Review, process, and monitor invoices received through a centralized AP inbox.
• 
  
• Support month-end accounting activities and assist with general staff accountant responsibilities as needed.
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, AP workflows, and Workday utilization.
• 
  
• Partner with accounting leadership and team members to provide recommendations on best practices and workflow efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 
  
• Experience as a Staff Accountant with strong Accounts Payable knowledge.
• 
  
• Hands-on Workday experience, including supplier invoices, expense reporting, and AP processing.
• 
  
• Ability to independently manage transactional work while also contributing process improvement ideas and system best practices.
•
