Position OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced
Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Plano, TX. This position plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of a multi-site manufacturing organization by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving process improvements.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in manufacturing accounting, month-end close, inventory accounting, and ERP systems. This individual is analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and support strategic business decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & Financial Reporting
Lead month-end close activities for assigned locations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Perform general ledger account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyze financial results and investigate account variances.
Reconcile intercompany transactions and related accounts.
Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
Manufacturing Accounting
Partner with site leadership to improve inventory accounting accuracy and cost tracking.
Perform inventory analysis and variance reporting.
Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking.
Assist with financial reporting related to manufacturing operations.
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting to improve reporting accuracy and data integrity.
Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline accounting processes.
Support ERP system enhancements and financial reporting improvements.
Participate in special projects, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Audit
Maintain strong internal controls and financial application security.
Support internal and external audit requests.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
Manufacturing accounting experience required.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
Experience using ERP systems, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Payroll, and Fixed Assets.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience within manufacturing, packaging, or label printing environments.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience with reporting automation or business intelligence tools.
