    We’re partnering with a well-established accounting firm seeking a Staff Accountant who can independently manage client work, oversee staff, and step in as a key extension of firm leadership. If you enjoy variety, responsibility, and direct client exposure—and you don’t need your hand held—this role is worth a closer look.


    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Take ownership of assigned client engagements from planning through completion
    • Manage general ledger work, financial statements, payroll filings, and related accounting deliverables
    • Serve as a go-to accounting resource for clients, including guidance on bookkeeping systems and questions
    • Review work prepared by associates and provide coaching on technical and procedural matters
    • Support staff development by answering questions, offering feedback, and modeling best practices
    • Monitor engagement timelines and proactively communicate risks or delays
    • Apply accounting and tax guidance to client-specific situations
    • Research accounting and tax issues and translate findings into practical solutions
    • Stay current on regulatory changes and assess impact on client accounts
    • Step in on special projects such as projections, cash flow analysis, and one-off client requests
    • Support audit engagements when assigned, including planning and supervision
    • Actively contribute to firm efficiency by taking initiative and reducing partner/manager workload
    • Remain open to onboarding new clients as the firm continues to grow


    What We’re Looking For

    • 2+ years of experience in public accounting or equivalent client-facing accounting environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (minimum 30 accounting units)
    • CPA active or in progress (strongly preferred)
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
    • Comfortable supervising and reviewing staff work
    • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks and similar platforms preferred)
    • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple deadlines
    • Professional communicator with a service-oriented mindset
