Staff Accountant – OKC Area

Are you an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and being part of the bigger picture? We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join an established organization and play an important role in keeping financial operations accurate, compliant, and running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of accounting experience who wants to expand their knowledge of general accounting, reconciliations, inventory, taxes, and month-end close.

What You’ll Do

• Complete monthly balance sheet and cash account reconciliations and research discrepancies.

• Review general ledger activity and help ensure expenses are accurately recorded and classified.

• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, inventory, intercompany transactions, and other accounting activity.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including financial reporting.

• Maintain accounting records related to company fuel inventory, including usage, pricing, and reconciliations.

• Support fuel tax and transportation-related reporting, including IFTA and IRP filings.

• Assist with state and local tax reporting, property tax, franchise tax, and related filings.

• Manage and reconcile the company’s fuel card program, researching unusual transactions and potential fraud.

• Assist with internal, external, governmental, and insurance audits by gathering documentation and answering questions.

• Process or approve ACH and wire payments while following established internal controls.

• Maintain the fixed asset schedule and assist with depreciation tracking.

• Prepare transportation-related reports and support KPI and financial reporting.

• Work closely with teams across accounting, operations, maintenance, and other departments.

• Assist with special projects and other accounting needs as assigned by the Controller.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of accounting experience.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.

• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large amounts of financial data.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
