Extension is seeking a Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our clients located in Milwaukee, WI.
Manage project billing, customer accounts, and invoicing to ensure accurate and timely payments
Review contracts, purchase orders, quotes, and project documentation before billing
Generate standard and customized invoices through email, EDI, mail, and customer portals
Process credits, adjustments, returns, and cash receipts
Research and resolve billing discrepancies and customer questions
Prepare account statements and reconcile customer accounts and financial transactions
Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, revenue forecasting, and reporting
Support internal and external audits and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Project Management, and Customer Success teams
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
2–5+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, or project accounting experience
Experience with project-based billing and revenue recognition
Strong understanding of contracts, purchase orders, billing milestones, and their impact on revenue
Working knowledge of GAAP
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities
NetSuite experience preferred

Hybrid schedule: Monday & Friday remote, Tuesday–Thursday in office
