Staff Accountant
Location: Carmel, IN (Hybrid)
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 + Bonus Potential
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager/Controller, you'll play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. Staff accountants typically support general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and monthly reporting while ensuring accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Analyze account activity and research discrepancies.
- Support annual audit preparation and provide requested documentation.
- Assist with budgeting and financial analysis as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP.
- Collaborate with departments across the organization to improve financial processes.
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
