Summary:
The Accountant role is an experienced individual contributor who operates with minimal supervision.
Owns workstreams, projects, or end-to-end processes within Accounting Operations.
Drives accurate execution and resolves complex issues through analysis and experience.
Influences operational practices and partners effectively across stakeholders to strengthen outcomes and performance.
Responsibilities:
Work independently with minimal supervision by taking ownership of tasks, priorities, and deliverables.
Set clear goals and execute a plan to achieve them.
Own entire projects or processes within the job area, including developing plans, setting milestones, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely, successful outcomes.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to peers and more junior colleagues by sharing expertise, best practices, and insights.
Communicate effectively within and outside the job function, including with external customers/vendors/stakeholders as applicable.
Influence operational practices and procedures by presenting recommendations and collaborating with stakeholders.
Solve difficult, multifaceted problems by gathering information, analyzing root causes, and applying critical thinking to develop solutions.
Conduct in-depth analysis using prior experience and scenario-based evaluation to assess impacts and determine the best path forward.
Contribute directly to department results by collaborating across teams and sharing knowledge/best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
Demonstrated experience in accounting operations/finance operations with the ability to operate independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
Proven ability to own and manage end-to-end processes or projects (planning, milestones, monitoring, delivery).
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, including handling issues that span multiple stakeholders or specialties.
Strong communication and stakeholder partnering skills (internal and external as applicable).
Preferred Skills:
Experience developing and implementing process improvements and monitoring effectiveness (e.g., measures/KPIs).
Experience training/coaching peers or junior colleagues in best practices and standard work.
