Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the plant's financial operations by maintaining accurate general ledger records, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes, validating data between SAP and OneStream, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role partners with AP/AR, Cost Accounting, FP&A, Operations, and Group / Corporate Finance to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
General Ledger Management
• Prepare and post journal entries in SAP, including accruals, reclasses, inventory-related entries, and standard accounting adjustments.
• Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and compliance with accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities under the direction of the Assistant Controller.
• Validate the accuracy of SAP actuals flowing into OneStream, resolving mapping or data issues.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation Ownership
• Prepare timely monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
• Investigate reconciling items and partner with AP, AR, Cost Accounting, and Operations to resolve root causes.
• Maintain high-quality reconciliation documentation aligned with SOX/internal control requirements.
Account Mapping & Master Data Governance
• Maintain and validate account mappings between SAP and OneStream to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support chart-of-accounts governance and ensure consistent account usage across the plant.
• Assist with system testing when mapping rules or reporting structures are updated.
Internal Controls & SOX Compliance
• Execute required journal entry controls, reconciliation approvals, and financial data validations.
• Participate in quarterly user access reviews for SAP and OneStream.
• Prepare audit support schedules and assist with internal/external audit inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal controls and standardize processes.
Financial Reporting Support
• Prepare month-end schedules and supporting documentation for plant and corporate reporting.
• Provide variance explanations for P&L and balance sheet accounts.
• Support FP&A by ensuring alignment of SAP data with OneStream reporting.
• Assist the Assistant Controller with ad hoc analysis and reporting requests.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with Cost Accounting on inventory account accuracy, PPV, scrap entries, cycle count adjustments, and other manufacturing-related financial impacts.
• Collaborate with AP/AR to resolve unmatched receipts, aged items, and transactional discrepancies.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on GR/IR cleanup, freight accruals, and inventory movement accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
• 3-5 years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with SAP for accounting activities.
• Familiarity with OneStream for financial reporting and data validation.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
