Staff Accountant

Location: Fort Collins, CO (on-site)
Salary Range $70,000 - $80,000

The Staff Accountant will have a strong focus on accounts payable, taking ownership of day-to-day AP activities while also supporting month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and other accounting functions. This role offers the opportunity to develop beyond transactional accounting and gain broader exposure across the accounting cycle.

What You’ll Do

As the Staff Accountant, you will:

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing

• Review invoices for accuracy, proper general ledger coding, approvals, and supporting documentation

  
  
• 
  

• Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve discrepancies

  
  
• 
  

• Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries

  
  
• 
  

• Process employee expense reports, corporate credit card transactions, and other AP-related activity

  
  
• 
  

• Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries

  
  
• 
  

• Prepare and maintain AP reports, schedules, and supporting documentation

  
  
• 
  

• Assist with general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations

  
  
• 
  

• Partner with internal departments to resolve invoice, purchasing, coding, and payment issues

  
  
• 
  

• Maintain strong documentation and support internal accounting controls

  
  
• 
  

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies

  
  
• 
  

• Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as the role continues to grow

What We’re Looking For

The ideal Staff Accountant will bring:

• 
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  
  
• 
  

• 2+ years of accounts payable, staff accounting, or related accounting experience

  
  
• 
  

• Hands-on experience with invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and account reconciliations

  
  
• 
  

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger activity

  
  
• 
  

• Experience supporting month-end close is preferred

  
  
• 
  

• Advanced Excel skills and strong overall systems aptitude

  
  
• 
  

• Experience working within an accounting or ERP system

  
  
• 
  

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
