Staff Accountant
Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, month-end close, account reconciliations, and three-way matching.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid accounting fundamentals, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
Process invoices, payments, customer transactions, and related accounting entries.
Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documentation, and vendor invoices.
Assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
Research and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, customer accounts, and general ledger activity.
Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
Review accounting transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
Assist with audits, reporting requests, and other accounting projects as needed.
Work closely with internal departments, vendors, and customers to resolve accounting issues.
Support the Accounting Manager/Controller with additional accounting responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with full-cycle AP and AR.
Experience with month-end close procedures.
Strong understanding of three-way matching.
Experience performing account and bank reconciliations.
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or transportation environment.
Experience working with an ERP/accounting system.
Experience with journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
Previous experience supporting an accounting department through a month-end close.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who understands the entire accounting cycle, not just AP or AR. They should be comfortable taking ownership of their work, identifying discrepancies, performing reconciliations, and contributing to a timely and accurate month-end close.
