We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role plays a key part in supporting monthly close activities and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across multiple business units and subsidiaries, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings strong technical accounting skills paired with a collaborative, hands-on approach. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Prepare standard and complex journal entries, including:
- Prepaid schedules and amortization
- Fixed asset schedules and depreciation
- Loan schedules and amortization
- Incorporating trial balances from subsidiaries
- Support and perform balance sheet net down.
- Manage monthly reconciliations.
- Calculate and administer wholesale commissions.
- Allocate expenses across business units.
- Provide financial reporting support, including actual-to-budget review and monthly deliverables to corporate.
- Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis for management and business units as needed.
- Provide hands-on support to subsidiary accounting operations, including foreign currency transactions and entity-specific accounting nuances.
- Assist with state apportionment calculations and coordinate tax reporting with internal/external tax teams.
Required Skills/Proficiencies: - Solid understanding of GAAP, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with business units and subsidiaries.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related.
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or multi-entity experience is a plus.
