Staff Accountant

Principal Purpose of Position: 

The Staff Accountant will perform all daily and monthly accounting functions for assigned areas. Functions are inclusive of journal entries and reconciliations to support the financial close. This includes participating in monthly and year-end financial closings, annual audit preparation, and other special projects as requested by Accounting & Reporting management.

The Daily: 

• Prepares monthly journal entries for month end close including benefits allocation, depreciation, and amortization. 
• One of the point persons with Avalara for sales tax filing and remittances 
• Coordinates with accounting department team members to ensure month end close tasks are allocated accordingly for smooth month end close procedures 
• Performs monthly reconciliation of bank statements and intercompany accounts. Use critical thought to make corrections in general ledger where necessary. 
• Prepares intercompany reporting and liaises between agencies for accurate posting. 
• Manages commissions computations 
• Essential in planning and reviewing weekly and daily cash reports 
• Conducts other ad hoc analysis and finance projects 
• Assists with growth and commence of the department by assisting AP/AR Associates to post accurate entries

Education and Experience: 

•  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 
• 1 to 3 years of experience (GL, financial statements, month-end close involvement, etc.) 
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, data mapping)
