Staff Accountant

Grand Circle's General Ledger team is seeking a Staff Accountant who can think critically, roll up their sleeves and is excited to revamp processes. You will be responsible for ensuring monthly accounting entries are complete, accurate, and in compliance with GAAP. Responsibilities:
Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in accordance with established close timelines. Ensure all entries are supported by appropriate documentation and comply with U.S. GAAP
Analyze account activity to identify and resolve variances or unusual items
Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and other assigned GL accounts. Ensure reconciliations are accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate detail
Prepare and support revenue recognition activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including analyzing underlying transactions, recording related journal entries, and reconciling deferred revenue and revenue accounts to ensure accuracy and proper period recognition
Perform fluctuation analysis on key balance sheet and P&L accounts. Support internal reporting and variance explanations during the close process
Work within the accounting team to standardize practices and procedures
Interact cross functionally to gather all relevant financial data to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting
Assist with preparation for and facilitation of the audit process
Requirements:
3-5 years of accounting or finance experience
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and a history of meeting deadlines
Bachelors degree in Accounting
Total Rewards:
The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $92,000 annually for employees based in Boston, MA. Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and first-class benefits, which include:
