Staff Accountant - Alpharetta, GA
The Staff Accountant will manage general ledger accounting, monthly close processes, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and reporting for a leading homebuilding company. This role ensures accuracy of financial records, supports special projects, and provides analytical insights to improve operational and financial performance.
Assist with month-end close processes and journal entries
Maintain accounting systems and adhere to corporate policies
Prepare bank account and general ledger reconciliations
Oversee suspense account reconciliation and wire transfers
Prepare monthly revenue entries, accruals, reclassifications, and allocation entries
Support ESSBASE system reporting to track overhead expenses and compare to budgets and forecasts
Run monthly fixed asset reports as required
Prepare commission packages for review
Support accounts payable activities
Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis
Perform other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
Minimum of 2 years of general accounting experience
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
JD Edwards experience preferred
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
