    FiberLight, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to support corporate accounting for a multi-state fiber networking company backed by a global private equity firm. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure across multiple accounting functions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a dynamic, growth-oriented organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

    • Support accounting activities in key areas, including:

    • Revenue recognition accounting (subscription, construction, and deferred revenue)

    • Construction and project accounting

    • Lease accounting and recordkeeping

    • Debt accounting

    • Operating expense accounting, including commissions and other compensation-related accruals

    • Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.

    • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.

    • Assist with internal and external audits and help maintain internal control documentation.

    • Partner with FP&A, IT, and operations teams to complete assigned responsibilities and identify process improvements.

    • Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as business needs evolve.

    Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 1-3 years of accounting experience.
    • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CPA certification or progress toward obtaining CPA designation.
    • Exposure to ASC 606 and ASC 842 concepts.
    • Public accounting, audit, or corporate accounting experience.
    • Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
