    The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to Director Submarine Program directorates and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Director Submarine Program unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navys top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program, the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), and the AUKUS Integration and Acquisition Office, to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Director Submarine Program will continue SPAs decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC

    Responsibilities

    The SSN-(X) Advanced Manufacturing Strategy Analyst will provide support to the Team Submarine SSN-X Future Attack Submarine Program Office. Responsibilities include developing and driving strategy for integrating new advanced manufacturing techniques into SSN(X) design and construction plans. This position includes technical and programmatic support of wide activities including risk management, scheduling, strategic advising, and technical documentation.

    This position is located at SPA HQ in Alexandria, VA with potential for light telework and regular travel to the client site at the Washington Navy Yard and/or the Pentagon. There is some opportunity for up to ~15-20% travel to partner and industry stakeholder locations.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical area
    • 8+ years of experience with USN submarine operations, design, construction, and/or other USN submarine support activities
    • Understanding of ship specifications, ship design and requirements processes
    • Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques
    • Active DoW SECRET security clearance

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Engineering Duty Officer (EDO), shipbuilder, SUPSHIP, NAVSEA 05, Warfare Center or other similar experience
    • Experience integrating advanced manufacturing techinques into ship construction processes
    • Master's Degree in Engineering or other technical area
