Join our dynamic team as a Sr. Workday Application Analyst, delivering technical expertise in Workday Finance and Adaptive for Amazon"s subsidiary Whole Foods Market. This role blends financial systems knowledge with hands-on technical skills to optimize system performance, maintain operational excellence, and ensure seamless functionality across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. You"ll leverage your deep understanding of financial concepts-including Ledger Accounts, Cost Centers, Journal Entries, Account Posting Rules, Costing Allocations, Bank Reconciliations, and Accounts Payable-to design solutions, execute testing, and maintain system integrity while supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic enhancement initiatives.

Key job responsibilities

Technical System Management

  • Design, configure, and maintain Workday Finance and Adaptive modules, ensuring optimal system performance and alignment with business requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in financial system architecture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Workday Finance functionality.
  • Monitor system performance metrics and implement proactive measures to maintain high availability and user satisfaction.

Financial Systems Expertise

  • Configure and maintain core financial components including Ledger Accounts, Cost Centers, Journal Entries, and Account Posting Rules.
  • Manage Accounts Payable configurations and workflows within Workday.
  • Ensure financial data integrity and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Requirements Gathering & Solution Design.

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and system configurations.
  • Design scalable solutions that leverage Workday Finance and Adaptive capabilities.
  • Evaluate system enhancement requests and provide recommendations on feasibility and implementation approach.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans.
  • Utilize Kainos for automated testing to ensure regression coverage and system stability.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with WWGS finance teams to understand business needs and deliver solutions.
  • Coordinate with IT teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders on integrations and enhancements.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

As a Workday Application Analyst III, your typical day might include:

  • Starting your morning by reviewing system alerts, critical tickets, and prioritizing tasks based on business impact.
  • Collaborating with the team during startup meetings to align on ongoing projects, deliverables, and priorities.
  • Leading requirements sessions with WWGS finance stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Designing and implementing Workday configuration for Finance and Adaptive modules.
  • Developing test plans and leveraging Kainos for automated testing to validate changes.
  • Troubleshooting configuration issues and coordinating with IT teams across hybrid environments.
  • Creating technical documentation.
