Senior Underwriter, Commercial E&S Property

As a Senior Underwriter at Trium Property, you will work closely with wholesale brokers to drive quality submission flow and apply your technical expertise to evaluate and price individual accounts.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite a profitable book of primarily cat-exposed commercial E&S property business, exercising careful analysis of exposures, pricing discipline, and operating within granted authority.
- Cultivate and maintain professional wholesale broker relationships, executing a production strategy that drives quality submissions within Trium's risk appetite.
- Be responsive to broker partners and creative in negotiating structure, terms, and conditions to find mutually beneficial solutions.
- Mentor and coach junior underwriters technically and professionally and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in commercial property underwriting and/or wholesale brokerage
- Successful track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships with wholesale brokers.
- Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners at all levels.
- Deep property underwriting knowledge, including natural perils and occupancy-specific hazards, and effective application of coverage terms and exclusions.
- Familiarity with CAT portfolio construction concepts and return on capital pricing approach.
- Methodical approach to risk evaluation, with the ability to articulate rationale in a structured way.
- Comfort operating in a goal-driven environment and delivering against activity and outcome targets.
- Tech savviness and an eagerness to experiment with and learn new technologies.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20%, and to direct your own travel schedule to achieve production goals
