Must Have Qualifications
  • 5 years of application testing and/or development experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Software, Biomedical, or Electrical preferred), or 2 years of experience with an additional advanced degree.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Test the functionality and performance of the systems software.
  • Develop and execute manual test plans and scripts designed to detect problems.
  • Ensure systems software meets technical and functional requirements.
  • Perform workflow analysis, document test results, and recommend quality improvements.
  • Work with engineers to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models.
Additional Position Details
  • System-Level Test Design, Troubleshooting, and V&V (hardware, software, sensors, controls, networking, safety systems).
  • Quality & Regulatory Compliance (IEC 62304).
  • Python Test Scripting.
Day-to-Day Activities
  • Plan and Execute Verification & Validation Testing (Manual & Automated).
  • Identification, Investigation, and documenting defects.
  • Test report creation and regulatory compliance for V&V for capital equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of Medical Product verification, IEC-62304, and FDA guidance in a technical discipline, preferably software-related (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience debugging hardware with tools such as oscilloscopes and function generators.
  • Experience writing, executing, and maintaining test automation scripts in Python or a comparable language.
  • Experience writing technical reports.
  • Experience using a tool or repository for managing test cases (Polarion, TFS, TestRail, JAMA, etc.).
  • Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive.
  • Ability to work with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers when discovering, documenting, and resolving integration issues.
  • Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment. Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provide test area with parameters for sample testing and specify tests to be performed. Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
Skills and Experience
Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Requires a University Degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
