Role Overview:
This role is based in Indianapolis, IN and supports day-to-day terminal operations in a rail and yard environment. The facility plays a key role in supporting customer supply chains through efficient movement of freight, equipment, and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily terminal operations, including yard management, rail operations, and equipment flow
- Ensure safe and efficient execution of loading, unloading, and movement of freight
- Lead and develop terminal staff, including scheduling, performance management, and policy enforcement
- Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, service levels, and cost
- Manage terminal budgets, including labor, equipment, and operational expenses
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communication and issue resolution
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, safety, and overall terminal performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, terminal, rail, or operations management
- Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of transportation, yard management, and terminal operations
- Experience with TMS/WMS systems and operational reporting
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a dynamic environment
