DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n)Sr. Manager, TPO R&D Labs .

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business toestablisha standalone orthopedics company,operatingasDePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation isanticipatedto be completed within 18 to24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Job Overview

The Sr. Manager, TPO R&D Labsserves asthe primary owner ofglobalR&D Labtechnology products supportingtraditionalR&Dlabsand R&Dmedical devicesoftware development labs. This role partners closely withR&D,R&Dlab technicians,cyber security,and IT stakeholders to translate business and scientific needs into scalable, compliant technology solutions. The role has a direct impact on accelerating innovation, improving data quality, and enabling efficient researchand developmentthat supports DePuy Synthes’ orthopedic portfolio.This position plays a critical role in modernizing the R&DLabemployee experience while supporting innovation,cyber security,compliance, and operational excellence across DePuy Synthes R&D Labs, and reports into theDePuySynthes Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle forR&D Labapplications, ensuring alignment with business,technology, and cyber securitystrategies.

  • Partnerwith R&DLabs,IT, and cyber securitystakeholders to translate lab‑specific needs into clear product requirements and priorities.

  • Lead backlog management, prioritization, and release planning, balancing value, risk, and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive delivery of secure, compliant, and scalableR&D Labsolutions, ensuring adherence to J&J Credo, data privacy, and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate withcross-functional teamsand external vendors to deliver high‑quality solutions on time and within scope.

  • Establish andmonitorproduct performance metrics, user adoption, and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Lead change management and communication efforts to ensure successfulglobaladoption across R&D Labs.

  • Mentor and guide junior product owners or analysts, fostering strong product management practices.

  • Lead the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms, accelerating product development, improving scientific and engineering insights, and strengtheningend‑to‑enddecision‑making, while enabling scalable, compliant, and efficient R&D operations from discovery through lifecycle management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, ora related field(required).

  • Master’s degree or MBA (preferred).

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • 8-10years of progressive experience in IT product management, product ownership, or technology leadership roles.

  • Proven experience owningR&D Labapplications.

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure needs for R&D labs.

  • Strong understanding of Agile and product management methodologies.

  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams in complex, regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technology solutions and roadmaps.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision‑making skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience supportingMedical DeviceR&Dlabs.

  • Experience with cyber security requirements forR&D product software developmentlabs.

  • Familiarity with data privacy, compliance, and validation requirements in regulated industries.

  • Prior people‑leadership or matrix leadership experience.

  • Strong analytical andproblem‑solvingcapabilities.

  • Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization.

Other:

  • Language: English (required).

  • Travel: Up to 15% domestic and/or international.

  • Certifications: Product Owner, Agile, or Project Management certifications (preferred).
