Location/Division Specific Information

The Sr. Technical Sales Training Specialist for the Biosciences Division is responsible for developing and delivering technical sales training, onboarding, and ongoing learning programs aligned with commercial needs and go-to-market priorities.

While based in North America, this role develops scalable learning solutions and collaborates with regional partners to support consistent learning experiences across the global commercial organization.

This position is site-based in Carlsbad, CA; Grand Island, NY; Austin, TX; Waltham, MA; or Pittsburgh, PA.

How you will make an impact

With the support of product and portfolio owners, you will develop product, workflow, and sales training that translates complex scientific concepts into practical learning experiences for commercial teams.

A key responsibility of this role is the in-person delivery of new-hire onboarding, including facilitating technical and workflow training, hands-on learning, practical application exercises, and knowledge assessments. You will help create an engaging onboarding experience that builds the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for new commercial colleagues to be successful in their roles.

You will partner with Marketing, Product Management, Sales, regional training partners, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs, develop scalable training solutions, and maintain relevant and accurate content for commercial teams globally.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role where scientific expertise, facilitation skills, learner engagement, and the ability to translate technical information into effective commercial training are critical to success.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and deliver technical sales training across product, application, and experimental workflow topics using virtual, digital, and instructor-led learning approaches.
• Facilitate in-person new-hire onboarding, including technical instruction, hands-on learning, practical application, assessments, and activities that build commercial readiness.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and develop training aligned with go-to-market strategies, competitive positioning, and customer needs.
• Develop learning content and tools that can be effectively used and scaled across regions, partnering with global training stakeholders to support consistency and localization as needed.
• Evaluate learner knowledge and proficiency and use feedback and assessment results to continuously improve training content and delivery.
• Maintain and update existing training materials to ensure scientific accuracy, commercial relevance, and consistency.
• Support commercial meetings, sales meetings, and other learning events through technical training, facilitation, and learner engagement.

How you will get there?

Education Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in biology or a related biological sciences field required.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. in life sciences highly preferred due to the technical science requirements to succeed in this role.

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant life sciences experience, with at least 2 years in technical training, sales training, commercial enablement, L&D, or a related function preferred.
• Experience developing and delivering technical training for commercial or sales audiences, including instructor-led and virtual learning.
• Experience facilitating in-person training, onboarding, workshops, or hands-on learning experiences.
• Practical laboratory experience in life sciences with the ability to understand and communicate complex scientific concepts.
• Previous field, commercial, or sales experience preferred, with an understanding of professional selling skills, customer needs, and commercial workflows.
• Experience developing learning content using instructional design principles and digital learning tools.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams; experience supporting global learning programs preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Strong instructor-led facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse commercial audiences in both in-person and virtual environments.
• Ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, practical, and commercially relevant learning experiences.
• Strong understanding of laboratory and experimental biological sciences.
• Understanding of commercial sales organizations and the ability to connect technical learning to customer needs, product positioning, and sales execution.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Marketing, Sales, and regional teams in a global, matrixed organization.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and independently develop solutions when challenges or barriers arise.
• Experience with eLearning tools, instructional design, scriptwriting, video, and other digital learning approaches.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 15% to support in-person onboarding, commercial meetings, training programs, and other business needs

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Texas is $93,800.00-$125,000.00.
