    Description

    Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex, cross-functional technology programs that power our production and post-production workflows. In this role, you will drive the strategy, planning, and execution of technology initiatives that enable content creators to produce world-class film and television at scale.

    As a Senior TPM on the Production/Post-Production Technology team, you will be the connective tissue between engineering, creative technology, production operations, and studio leadership. You will own the end-to-end delivery of programs that modernize and scale our production technology ecosystem from on-set capture and dailies pipelines to editorial, VFX, color, sound, and final delivery workflows.

    You will lead cost reduction initiatives that optimize infrastructure spend, streamline vendor contracts, and identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership across production and post-production technology platforms ensuring that we deliver maximum value without compromising creative quality. You will also drive security initiatives that protect our content and intellectual property throughout the production lifecycle, partnering with information security teams to implement robust access controls, secure media pipelines, and ensure compliance with studio security standards (e.g., TPN/MPAA guidelines). Additionally, you will serve as a critical bridge between operations teams and engineering teams, ensuring that operational needs, on-the-ground production realities, and day-to-day workflow challenges are translated into actionable engineering requirements ensuring that engineering solutions are deployed effectively into production environments with minimal disruption.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Program Leadership: Define and drive multi-year technology roadmaps for production and post-production systems, aligning engineering investments with studio business priorities and creative needs.
    • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with software development teams, production technology operations, creative stakeholders, vendor partners, and senior leadership to deliver integrated solutions on time and within scope.
    • Technical Depth: Develop a deep understanding of media supply chain technologies, cloud-based production workflows, asset management systems, and industry standards (e.g., ACES, IMF, SMPTE) to inform program decisions and trade-offs.
    • Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify risks, resolve blockers, and manage complex interdependencies across distributed teams and third-party integrations.
    • Operational Excellence: Establish program governance, reporting mechanisms, and success metrics that provide transparency to stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
    • Innovation & Scale: Champion cloud-native, scalable solutions that reduce friction for content creators while maintaining the highest quality standards for theatrical and streaming delivery.
