    Description

    Application deadline: Oct 28, 2026

The Quick Commerce (QC) Construction team is looking for a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager III (TIPM III) to own the construction delivery strategy and technical construction standards for QC's rapidly scaling North America network.

QC deploys multiple physical infrastructure formats, including Stand Alone and Co-Located sites, where technical requirements vary by site type, existing building conditions, infrastructure capacity, and deployment scenario.

This role operates at the intersection of engineering design and field execution, defining how new and evolving QC infrastructure is built, determining whether technical designs and construction approaches are appropriate for specific deployment scenarios, and creating repeatable deployment standards where established processes do not yet exist.

The TIPM III will develop and maintain construction specifications, technical execution standards, GC performance requirements, and change-management mechanisms that govern QC construction delivery. You will use technical domain knowledge across mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, fire protection, and building infrastructure to identify constructability and integration risks, challenge technical assumptions, evaluate deployment alternatives, and provide field-based feedback to upstream teams for product and specification improvement.

This role goes beyond executing an approved construction plan. You will define and continuously improve the technical deployment process itself, translating lessons from active builds into scalable infrastructure standards that improve speed, quality, cost, and constructability across the QC portfolio.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own and continuously improve QC construction infrastructure deployment standards across formats.
    • Develop construction execution standards, specifications, technical scopes, GC performance requirements, and quality standards.
    • Define new infrastructure deployment processes where established construction methods or standards do not yet exist.
    • Evaluate technical designs, materials, sequencing, and construction approaches for specific deployment scenarios, considering constructability, infrastructure constraints, cost, and operational requirements.
    • Partner with Design Engineering, Pre-Construction, SUEX, WHS, Operations, and external partners to resolve complex infrastructure build issues.
    • Lead technical development of new delivery models, including design-build, establishing scalable governance and performance mechanisms.
    • Root-cause recurring field issues and translate findings into upstream engineering, specification, and deployment-process improvements.
    • Drive value engineering and technical cost optimization across the construction portfolio.
    • Establish change-management mechanisms ensuring technical changes and field learnings are consistently incorporated into future deployments.
    • Develop mechanisms to benchmark construction quality, GC technical performance, and recurring infrastructure failure modes.
    • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex construction issues, determining whether failures stem from execution, design, specification, or deployment methodology.

    A day in the life

You start by reviewing shortlisted sites, assessing infrastructure capacity, existing building conditions, and technical constraints to inform site selection and determine fit for QC deployment. You partner with internal teams to evaluate constructability, infrastructure requirements, cost, and technical risk before sites move forward. Later, you pressure-test the design-build model and identify opportunities to improve technical standards. When a Construction Manager escalates a complex field issue, you evaluate whether the root cause is design, specification, or execution and determine the appropriate path forward. Your work turns site and construction learnings into repeatable improvements for future QC deployments.

    About the team

The QC Construction team builds and retrofit multiple site formats across varying building conditions, jurisdictions, and infrastructure configurations supporting Amazon's Quick Commerce across North America. TIPMs work alongside Construction Managers, Pre-Construction, Design Engineering, SUEX, WHS, Finance, Operations, and external partners to develop scalable construction solutions. While Construction Managers lead day-to-day construction execution, TIPMs define and improve the technical standards that guide how sites are built: developing specifications, solving infrastructure challenges, evaluating construction approaches, and translating field findings into repeatable standards that improve speed, quality, cost, and constructability across the QC network.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here
