Technical Business Analyst
Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Technical Business Analyst who excels at bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams within a fast-paced Agile environment. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable leading conversations with business users, documenting detailed requirements, performing hands-on data analysis, and partnering with technical teams through design, development, testing, and release.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives in less structured environments, can independently drive multiple initiatives simultaneously, and has a proven track record of owning deliverables from requirements gathering through implementation. This is a highly collaborative role that requires confidence facilitating meetings with diverse stakeholder groups while maintaining strong attention to detail and project organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, workshops, and requirements gathering meetings with both functional and technical teams.
- Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.
- Create and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Technical Design documentation, and Data Lineage documentation.
- Partner with developers and architects to ensure technical solutions align with documented business requirements.
- Perform hands-on data analysis, troubleshooting, and validation using SQL to support business initiatives.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent projects while effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Track project progress, action items, and follow-ups across multiple Agile initiatives.
- Monitor JIRA stories, defects, and tasks to ensure project milestones remain on track.
- Coordinate application releases and communicate release activities to stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed meeting documentation, action logs, and project documentation.
- Work effectively in projects that may have evolving requirements and changing priorities.
- Clearly communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and deliverables to stakeholders at all levels.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst supporting enterprise data or technology initiatives.
- 4+ years working in Agile environments with cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Strong experience facilitating meetings with multiple business stakeholders and driving consensus.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own requirements from discovery through implementation.
- Proven success managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities.
- Strong experience writing:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Technical Design Documents
- Data Lineage Documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with 4+ years of hands-on data analysis and troubleshooting experience.
- 24+ years of SQL experience, including Oracle and SQL Server. MongoDB experience is a plus.
- Strong Oracle database experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, filtering, lookups, pivot tables, and working with large datasets.
- Experience creating and managing JIRA stories, tasks, and Agile documentation.
- Ability to clearly articulate previous project work, individual contributions, and measurable business outcomes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
