The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Information Technology Division (ITD) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with GIS experience to provide expert-level systems administration and technical support. The role focuses on Windows Server management, ArcGIS systems, and infrastructure optimization for high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 environments, including Active Directory, Group Policies, Firewall Configuration, and SSL Certificate management
• Manage and optimize network components such as firewalls, NAT rules, load balancing, and IP configurations
• Support ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Workflow Manager Server (v10.5.1–10.9.1+), and Portal for ArcGIS environments
• Install and configure ArcGIS Web Adaptors and manage shared configuration stores
• Manage ArcGIS License Manager, ArcGIS Desktop (ArcCatalog, ArcMap), and deploy GIS-related files (MXD, SD, SDE, AGS, JTC)
• Troubleshoot and optimize IIS and Tomcat environments for ArcGIS Server
• Perform server upgrades, patching, and performance monitoring
• Utilize monitoring tools such as SCCM, SCOM, or Nagios to ensure system uptime and availability
