    JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer

    LOCATION: Greater Indianapolis

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Systems Engineer to join their Information Technology team. This individual will play a key role in the design, architecture, implementation, and support of the organization's server, datacenter, and cloud infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing enterprise virtualization platforms, storage solutions, disaster recovery technologies, and cloud environments while ensuring high availability, security, and scalability. This role works closely with IT teams to support business initiatives through infrastructure modernization, automation, and continuous improvement.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design, architect, and implement enterprise datacenter and cloud-based infrastructure solutions, including deployment of new servers and cluster expansion.
    • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
    • Manage and administer virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, Nutanix AOS, VMware vSAN, and other VMware technologies.
    • Design and support cloud infrastructure and automation solutions utilizing Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell.
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
    • Design, implement, and support enterprise storage solutions including HPE Alletra, Dell PowerStore, NetApp, Pure Storage, and similar technologies.
    • Implement and support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions including Zerto and VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
    • Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory, ADCS, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy.
    • Apply security best practices including least privilege access, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and secure infrastructure design.
    • Support three-tier architecture and hyperconverged infrastructure environments.
    • Maintain accurate technical documentation for infrastructure, systems, and processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and participate in knowledge sharing and cross-training initiatives.
    • Independently manage infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve server, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure issues to minimize business disruption.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience designing and supporting enterprise datacenter and cloud infrastructure.
    • Strong experience administering Windows and Linux server environments.
    • Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere, Nutanix AOS, VMware vSAN, and related platforms.
    • Experience with infrastructure automation tools including PowerShell, Terraform, and Ansible.
    • Experience designing and supporting Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ADCS, and Group Policy.
    • Experience with enterprise storage technologies and SAN environments.
    • Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
    • Familiarity with Azure cloud services, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Strong understanding of infrastructure security best practices including least privilege and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
    • Ability to manage infrastructure projects from start to finish.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
    • VMware certifications.
    • Microsoft Systems Administration certifications.
    • ITIL certification.
    • Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery platforms.
    • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise datacenter environments.
