POSITION: Senior Systems Engineer

DESCRIPTION:Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of our core IT infrastructure. This role will focus on the administration of Microsoft technologies and broader systems, including Linux, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments. Responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of critical systems, while mentoring junior team members and driving infrastructure automation and modernization initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

• Infrastructure Design and Management: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of core infrastructure services, including Active Directory (AD), Entra ID, Windows/Linux servers, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Server Administration: Oversee the administration of Windows Server and Linux systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Virtualization and Storage: Manage enterprise-level virtualization platforms, such as VMware and Hyper-V, and support SAN/NAS storage solutions.
• Email and Collaboration Services: Support and maintain Microsoft 365 or Exchange environments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across the organization.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation tools using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to streamline infrastructure management and increase operational efficiency.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce security policies and procedures, including patch management, system hardening, and role-based access control, to ensure regulatory compliance and data protection.
• Disaster Recovery and Backup: Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and system continuity in case of failures.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and best practices across the team.
• Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, network, and security teams to ensure infrastructure meets business needs and operational excellence.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize monitoring tools to proactively manage system health, troubleshoot issues, and lead root cause analysis for infrastructure problems.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed technical documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.

 REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related field, and 7 years of experience in systems engineering and Microsoft systems. HOURS:                  Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week

LOCATION:             Coral Gables, FL. (Remote Position)

SALARY RANGE:     $150,000 - $160,000 per year
