We are seeking a Sr. Systems Development Engineer to develop transformative systems that will revolutionize facility design and deployment. Our technology portfolio includes computer vision solutions leveraging vision language models, autonomous robotics (ground and aerial), generative data analytics, and agentic workflow automation systems deployed across our global fulfillment network.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify and implement strategic technical solutions of AI/ML systems, autonomous robotics, and quality automation solutions.
  • Identify and develop internal tooling to assist with departmental efficiencies. (AI tooling, Data analytics, agentic workflow assistants etc.)
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and drive cross-functional execution priorities
  • Identify and analyze tradeoffs between software design alternatives, including impact on performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scalability
  • Write status and build reports for cross-functional leadership review
  • Mentor engineers and share best practices across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Set the example of what a highly skilled, proactive, creative software developer who is well versed in AI and is constantly looking for more efficient ways to work and pushing the boundaries of innovation looks like.

A day in the life

  • 15% domestic travel
  • Leverage internal Amazon AI coding agents to rapidly prototype code experiments.
  • Ability to code in SQL, Python or C/C++
  • Innovative design and implementation ideas for our material handling equipment and conveyor systems
  • Complex system testing, commissioning, verification, and validation
  • Designing and implementing systems and tools that enable high quality launches of large Amazon fulfillment centers
