Scope: This role involves overseeing and managing the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure its reliability, security, and efficiency. Here's an overview of the key responsibilities:
Schedule: This is a hybrid position weighted toward onsite presence, with occasional offsite/remote flexibility. It includes scheduled monthly weekend maintenance windows for patching and security remediation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Provide advanced technical support and IT help desk services for hardware, software, and network issues on laptops and desktops, including device provisioning, imaging, and onboarding/offboarding.
· Lead system and process upgrades, and oversee configuration and operation of client-based computer systems and broader IT infrastructure.
· Administer and monitor network infrastructure (firewalls, VPN, switches, wireless), including security monitoring via log/alert review and custom-built AI-derived network security auditing tools.
· Administer the organization’s Microsoft 365 and Azure (Entra ID) environment, including identity, license, and access management, conditional access/MFA, and data protection (DLP) policies.
· Deploy and manage endpoint protection (Bitdefender) and patch management (NinjaOne) across servers and endpoints, maintaining a documented patch cadence and change management process.
· Manage and schedule offsite/cloud backups, retention policies, and periodic restore testing.
· Monitor system performance, analyse trends, and troubleshoot complex system issues and outages to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
· Implement and manage security measures, data protection protocols, and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
· Support SOC 2 compliance efforts by collecting and maintaining evidence for recurring control activities and assisting with audit requests.
· Supervise IT asset and inventory management processes.
· Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.
Required Skills & Experience
· 4-6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a related role.
· Strong troubleshooting experience across hardware, software, network, and systems, including general help desk support for laptops and desktops.
· Experience managing IT infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and IT asset/inventory management.
· Experience with RMM and endpoint protection platforms (e.g., NinjaOne, Bitdefender) for patch management, remote support, and threat response.
· Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure/Entra ID, including identity, security, and compliance features.
· Experience with network security monitoring, backup and disaster recovery planning, offsite/cloud replication, and restore testing; familiarity with AI-driven or automated security auditing tools a plus.
· Familiarity with SOC 2 (or similar compliance framework) evidence collection and audit support.
· Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex technical issues and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+) and scripting/automation experience (e.g., PowerShell) preferred.
