About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Survey Project Manager to join our growing Orlando, Florida team of dedicated professionals. In this leadership role, you will bring your extensive experience in land surveying to help establish, build, and lead a dynamic team of office and field staff. With your deep knowledge of survey principles, Florida surveying requirements, modern technologies, and equipment, you'll ensure the delivery of high-quality survey services across a variety of project types throughout Central Florida.

Your days will be filled with a mix of technical work, team leadership, client collaboration, and team building. From boundary analysis and ALTA/NSPS surveys to topographic mapping, site development surveys, right-of-way mapping, construction layout, plats, legal descriptions, and FDOT/Public Works assignments, you’ll take the lead on planning, oversight, and execution, ensuring all work meets project budgets and timelines. You’ll draw upon your expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other survey-related software to produce and review accurate survey documents and computations.

In this position, you'll play an active role in building Galloway’s Orlando survey team, mentoring and developing staff, providing on-the-job training, and delegating tasks in a way that builds confidence and competence in junior team members. Your influence will extend to hiring decisions, employee coaching, client relationship development, and fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Project Oversight: Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of survey projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, site development, right-of-way, construction layout, platting, legal descriptions, FDOT/Public Works, and other public and private sector survey assignments, ensuring all are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Daily interaction and coordination with the office Survey Team Manager.

· Team Building and Leadership: Help establish, grow, lead, and mentor the Orlando survey team, including project managers, project surveyors, CAD technicians, and field crews. Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, technical development, and team cohesion.

· Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction, clarity in scope, and proactive communication. Writing proposals based on client request and requirements. Develop and maintain client relationships in the Orlando and Central Florida market.

· Technical Expertise: Oversee survey methodologies, quality control, compliance with Florida statutes and rules, municipal requirements, FDOT standards where applicable, and Galloway standards of practice. Provide strategic guidance on best practices.

· Mentorship: Act as a knowledge resource for junior staff, fostering development and knowledge sharing within the survey group.

Technical Proficiency

· Preferred Experience with: Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), Deltek Vantagepoint

· Experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, FDOT Location Surveying requirements, right-of-way mapping, and Florida platting standards is a plus.

· Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach talent, and work cross-functionally with internal departments and external clients.

· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a solutions-oriented mindset.

· Experience with business development, proposal writing and billings/invoice review.

To Thrive In This Role, You’ll Need

· A Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper license (PSM) preferred.

· A minimum of a high school diploma or technical school education in surveying technology, or equivalent experience.

· At least 10 years of experience in survey project management or leadership role.

· Experience in building, growing, or leading a survey team is strongly preferred.

· Experience with Orlando, Central Florida, FDOT/Public Works, site development, and private sector survey projects is preferred.

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $130,000 – $160,000.
