    Description

Are you curious about how one of the world"s most recognized supply chains keeps millions of products available for customers? As a Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager on the Home and Kitchen team, you will own inventory strategies for strategic product categories, working directly with well-known brands to maximize product availability and drive profitable growth. You will use data analysis, SQL, Excel, and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools to turn large data sets into actionable insights that directly impact the P&L.

This is an opportunity to build deep expertise in supply chain management and ecommerce while collaborating with Product, Vendor, and Customer Success teams. You will define and execute supply chain roadmaps, work closely with vendors, and lead process improvements that shape how customers experience Home and Kitchen at Amazon.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Develop and implement inventory strategies that balance stock levels, accommodate demand fluctuations, and improve order fulfillment across your assigned categories
    • Analyze large data sets using SQL, Excel, and GenAI tools to identify trends, diagnose root causes, and present recommendations to leadership through business reviews and strategic narratives
    • Collaborate with vendors, including monitoring performance, and driving process improvements that increase confirmation rates and reduce inbound lead times
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Vendor, and Customer Service teams to clear blockers, align priorities, and deliver simplified solutions that improve product availability and cost structure
    • Identify and mitigate long-term supply chain risks, making trade-offs between short-term and long-term needs to protect the customer experience

    A day in the life

You will operate with a high degree of independence, proactively managing your categories rather than reacting to issues. A typical morning might start with reviewing inventory health metrics on internal dashboards, then joining a recurring business review where you share insights and align on priorities with cross-functional partners. Later, you could be running a SQL analysis to uncover a supply chain bottleneck, followed by a call with a top brand to discuss forecasting and replenishment. You will balance heads-down analytical work with collaborative sessions, and your recommendations will have a direct impact on the P&L.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
