JOB SUMMARY
This person works as a team to provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to the customer and patient's needs. This position is responsible for receiving, rotating, stocking, and issuing food and supplies to support food service operation within Nutrition and Food Services as well as units within UCSF Health as well as maintaining relationships with vendors. This person maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the foodservice areas and equipment. This person may be required to work in cold environments. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions and is looked upon as the ambassador for the department of Nutrition and Food Services. This person reports to the Supervisor, Food Services. This position does not oversee any employees. This position will take direction from Food Services Leads, Principal Food Service Workers in the Diet Office, DTRs, and Dietitians.

Salary Information
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Receiving:
Receives orders of food and supplies from approved vendors.
Accurately reconciles deliveries against purchase orders and documents discrepancies. Notifies management if any discrepancies require action.
Including checking deliveries for quality, quantity and specifications.
Enforces safety and sanitation standards from vendors.
Checks that perishable items are received at proper holding temperature and documents accordingly.
Uses safety equipment like pallet jacks and carts as needed to move product safely.
Stocks and rotate using FIFO and food storage procedures.
Checks and discards expired supplies according to procedures.
Maintains both time and temperature controls while receiving and storing supplies.
Follows label and dating procedures.
Ensures proper paperwork for all deliveries complete (invoices, packing slips, etc.) according to established procedures.
Inventory Management:
Conducts manual inventory when assigned.
Orders food and supplies as directed by management.
Keeps storeroom and fridge/freezers secured and locked as appropriate.
Monitors refrigerator temperatures and respond to temperature alerts.
Assists with manual temperature checks as assigned.
Stocking and Issuing Supplies:
Issues food and supplies within Nutrition & Food Services and externally to other customers in other units within UCSF Health.
Includes accurately pulling products based on pullsheets, requisitions, and par levels following FIFO and documenting.
Delivers orders to requesting units and adheres to established deadlines.
