JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Client Northrop Grumman is looking for an Engineer Software 3 to support the Western Region Software Engineering department. As a member of this department, you'll get to support Development and Operations & Maintenance contracts. This position will serve 100% on-site in a SCIF in Redondo Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyses system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications for Engineer Software 3

• 12 years of relevant experience with bachelor's degree; 10 years of relevant experience with master's degree; 8 years of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Must have the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period as determined by the company prior to start date
• Working knowledge of Advanced Object-Oriented programming
• Working knowledge of the C++ programming language
• Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system

Preferred Qualifications for Engineer Software 3

• DevSecOps Test Automation experience
• Experience with programming/scripting languages: C++, C, Java, Python, Perl
• Strong skills in math and algorithms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and stakeholders
• Previous participation on an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
• Experience developing in a Linux environment using git
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
