Sr Staff / Principal Application Engineer - System Software

MediaTek is looking for a software engineer with a strong background in embedded systems and the semiconductor industry. Our team partners closely with customers to deliver high-quality products, and the system software engineer will develop customized features and debug system issues side by side with customer engineers. MediaTek already powers several market-leading products, and we're inviting talented engineers to help us build even greater successes.

Role and Responsibilities

• Bring up new platform boards and independently verify major functions
• Manage regular software releases and resolve multi-branch conflicts
• Analyze, triage, and debug issues hands-on
• Partner with customer engineers to resolve system issues and requests
• Collaborate with the project management team to deliver software solutions to customers

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• At least 3 years of C/C++ programming experience
• At least 3 years of System-on-Chip (SoC) system software development experience
• At least 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems (Linux, Android, Yocto, or RTOS)
• Strong knowledge of common peripheral buses (I2C/SPI/UART/GPIO, USB, PCIe, SDIO, etc.)
• Systematic problem-solving skills and effective technical communication
• A proactive, positive attitude toward solving challenging and complex problems
