Role Description:

Booking.com is seeking a Fintech Commercial Lead to support the execution of our US Fintech strategy across the US brand portfolio of Booking Holdings (BKNG), which includes Booking.com, Priceline, and OpenTable. The role will focus on driving commercial margin contribution through Fintech commercial solutions and products.

This role will focus on translating complex priorities into tangible commercial impact, including incremental financial contribution, cost savings, improved payment economics, and financially accretive initiatives. Reporting directly to the Head of Fintech US Commercial, you will work closely with Fintech senior stakeholders, US brand teams, Product, Legal, Finance, Treasury, Fraud, Operations, and external partners to identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities that improve performance across the US market.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in strategy, commercial partnerships, business growth, and payments, with the ability to move from analysis and business cases to cross-functional execution.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Execute the US Fintech Strategy
    Support the execution of the US Fintech strategy across BKNG US brands, translating priorities into clear workstreams, business cases, and delivery plans.
  • Drive Commercial Margin Contribution
    Identify and support initiatives that deliver incremental financial contribution, unlock cost savings, and improve payment economics for BKNG’s financial results in the US market.
  • Scale Fintech Commercial Solutions
    Help assess, and execute Fintech solutions and products that deliver value for BKNG brands, customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Unlock Value Through Partnerships
    Identify and support commercial opportunities with strategic partners, including card networks, PSPs, and Fintech providers, with a focus on value beyond core payments where relevant.
  • Align Stakeholders and Drive Execution
    Collaborate with Product, Legal, Finance, Treasury, Fraud, Operations, and US brand teams to align priorities, remove blockers, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Deliver Executive Communication
    Prepare concise executive updates, business cases, and strategic  recommendations that translate complex Fintech and payments topics into clear commercial decisions.

 

What You'll Bring: 

  • 8+ years of experience in Strategy, Commercial Partnerships, and Business Development, ideally within Fintech or adjacent tech sectors.

  • Of that, 4+ years of Payments experience, with understanding of the payment lifecycle across pay-in, pay-out, acceptance, fraud, chargebacks, authorization, and payment economics.

  • An MBA or equivalent advanced exec education, and/or prior experience in consulting and strategy roles, is a strong plus.

  • Proven ability to shape and execute market-specific strategy & planning, with a track record of sizing, prioritizing, and delivering financially material opportunities in the US market, preferably in the FinTech space.

  • Deep understanding of the US FinTech landscape, including industry trends, compliance regulatory frameworks, and consumer behavior.

  • Expertise in unlocking value beyond core payments through collaborations in Marketing & Brand activation, Distribution, Sponsorships, Data Insights, Personalization, etc. initiatives.

  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to drive execution in partnership with Product, Legal, Operations, Treasury, Fraud, etc.

  • Strong analytical mindset, capable of assessing market opportunities, producing business cases, and identifying risks.

  • Skilled in executive communication, with the ability to distill complex information into concise updates and strategic recommendations.

  • Exceptional storytelling ability, crafting presentations that clearly communicate business value and direction.
