Overview:
The Senior Specialist, Dentist Development will support the PDS-Supported Owner Dentists with ownership and financing opportunities. As a subject matter expert (SME), they will handle highly confidential and sensitive correspondence and performs complex projects. Oversees each ownership transaction to ensure they stay on track with identified timeline.
Responsibilities
Lead PDS Supported Owner Dentists through loan application process, advising them with ownership transaction documents and office financials
Analyze current ownership and transaction processes and implements new improvements if necessary to maintain effective process
Develop and manage financing options; work closely with PDS Supported Owner Dentists and bank partner to obtain loan approval for purchase price. Explain and help bank approver understand the office financials, dentist income and purchase evaluation to determine status of loan
Builds relationships with banking partners and negotiates changes such as improving interest rates and terms for the borrower. Provides direction on adjusting interest rates and terms based on feedback from our PDS Supported Owner Dentists; works directly with banking partner to modify the terms to best fit the borrower’s situation. Provides data to support feedback
Provide business reason for incoming wires and instructions for disbursement of transaction funds to financing institutions and sellers
Collaborates with Regional Partners in structuring deals with PDS Supported Owner Dentists; transaction structure, timing and provide best practices. Provides evaluation of current owner interest structure, determines valuation by analyzing the office financials and determines effective date based on legal work flow. Drafts Letters of Intent for the Owner Dentist based on these items
Facilitate and guide interactions between PDS Supported Owner Dentist and Tax Department, Legal Department and Accounting and Finance Department Explains each detail pertaining to the specific transaction and provides next steps
Act as SME for special projects, including planning and organizing meetings or events. Supports Owner Dentist education process, such as reviewing content to ensure alignment with new owner curriculum
Deliver status updates on a biweekly basis to direct supervisors and other supporting departments pertaining to owner dentist transactions. Supervises legal documentation to ensure deadlines are being met within a specific timeline
Build relationships and conduct face-to-face meetings with PDS Supported Dentists on a routine basis. Engages with potential Owner Dentists during New Dentist Orientation and other meetings; provides dentists with insight on owner dentist model and process. Evaluates for potential owner qualifications and provides feedback to regional team (Regional Partner and Regional Manager)
Manage verification of employment documentation for PDS-Supported Owner Dentists for home loans and other financial requests
Assist in the development and facilitate webinars from the National Support office
Supports VP, Dentist Development with strategic development of Owner Dentist leadership and business curriculum to enhance ownership experience
Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In lieu of degree, 4 years of related experience is required
3 + or more years of dental office financial or related work experience
Preferred
Prior coursework or on-the-job training in the fields of dentistry, business, or training
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience leading a team, mentoring and coaching other team members
