    The Retail Trading Services Finance team provides financial analysis and decision support for Schwab's Retail Investor Services organization. Trading Services delivers an industry-leading trading experience through innovative platforms, tools, products, education, financial content, and specialized service and risk support across desktop, web, and mobile channels.

    As a Senior Finance Specialist, you will help business partners understand performance, evaluate opportunities, and make informed decisions that drive profitable growth, operational leverage, and greater efficiency. You will support monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, risk and opportunity assessment, quarterly forecasting, and annual planning across business lines, including the Futures and Forex legal entity.

    You will turn complex financial results and large data sets into clear insights for senior stakeholders, build financial models to evaluate growth and scale opportunities, and develop client-level revenue metrics that reveal the drivers of trading revenue and business performance. Working closely with finance and business partners, you will strengthen forecasting processes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and provide timely analysis for strategic initiatives and emerging business questions. Success in this role requires analytical thinking, sound decision making, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to communicate financial insights in a practical and influential way.

    What you have

    What you're good at:

    • Supporting monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, risk and opportunity quantification, quarterly forecasts, and annual plans across business lines, including the Futures and Forex legal entity
    • Synthesizing financial results and communicating relevant insights to senior stakeholders that will support strategic decision-making
    • Building strong business partnerships across levels to understand priorities, share financial context, and help drive results
    • Learning how Schwab's Trading revenue is forecast by identifying the key client and trading metrics that influence top-line growth and applying those insights to the Trader Finance team's monthly forecasting process
    • Developing client-level revenue contribution metrics to provide deeper insight into trends affecting revenue growth in Schwab's Trader business
    • Evaluating growth opportunities and building financial models to support initiatives, including Scale & Efficiency programs at Schwab
    • Driving process efficiencies in monthly and quarterly forecasting to create capacity for deeper analysis that supports business performance
    • Supporting ad hoc financial analysis requested by business partners

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A, including variance analysis, reporting, and budgeting & forecasting
    • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related field
    • Solid understanding of finance concepts and GAAP accounting
    • Strong attention to detail
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience using IBM Planning Analytic, PeopleSoft Financials applications and PowerBI
    • Demonstrate analytical aptitude working with large data sets
