Sr. Software Engineer, Vehicle Pricing, Digital Experience

As a Senior Software Engineer on Teslas Digital Experience team you will lead the development and enhancement of vehicle pricing applications that power our Sales Fleet Management and Finance organizations.

You will collaborate with the core pricing team to define rules implement sophisticated pricing algorithms and automate the application of pricing to new and used vehicle inventory across retail and wholesale sales channels.

This role supports Teslas global product catalog and configuration for vehicles ensuring dynamic pricing strategies that adapt to market demands in every region.

Design develop and maintain scalable vehicle pricing applications that integrate with Sales Fleet Management and Finance systems enabling automated rule-setting algorithm-driven pricing and real-time application to new and used inventory for retail and wholesale channels

Architect and manage advanced pricing models and algorithms to handle price recommendations discounts sales programs demand-based adjustments and inventory-specific optimizations

Develop intelligent workflows leveraging Large Language Models LLMs and agentic AI to enhance decision-making automate pricing planning and streamline cross-organizational approvals

Build robust data analytics pipelines to ingest and analyze vehicle inventory data sales trends costs and competitor pricing powering recommendation engines for strategic pricing decisions

Write high-quality clean maintainable performant and well-tested code with a focus on senior-level ownership including code reviews architectural guidance and mentoring junior engineers

Create comprehensive unit and integration tests partner with QA teams to ensure regression testing for new features and drive quality assurance best practices

Monitor production system metrics respond to alerts proactively and lead troubleshooting efforts for live issues impacting pricing accuracy or performance

Analyze existing vehicle pricing systems for technical gaps propose and implement improvements to enhance scalability reliability and integration with downstream sales channels

Communicate project updates includingchanges in estimates dependencies and blockers to stakeholders across Sales Fleet Management Finance and engineering teams with clarity and timeliness

Utilize modern technologies such as React JavaScript Python Node.js MySQL OpenSearchElasticsearch Redis GraphQL Docker and Kubernetes to deliver resilient cloud-native systems that scale with Teslas growing inventory and global operations

Degree in Computer Science Engineering Physics Math proof of exceptional skills in related field or equivalent experience4 years of related practical experience in software engineering with a proven track record in full stack development

Experience writing code in programming languages like JavaScript Python Go or CExperience with microservices or service-oriented architectureExpertise with databases including MySQL for structured data management and OpenSearchElasticsearch for search indexing and analyticsGood unit testing and integration testing practicesFlexible and motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills with a positive attitude and a strong desire to improve efficiency and scalabilityFamiliarity with AI integration including LLMs for tasks like generating pricing insights and agentic AI workflows for adaptive user experiencesExperience with JavaScript ES56 HTML CSS and the React framework for building intuitive frontend interfacesExperience in the automotive energy or ride-hailing industries preferred
